Impeller Balancing
All of our impellers are statically and dynamically balanced in compliance with the regulation ISO 1940/1, referring to a balance tolerance of 6.3.
The tolerable residual eccentricity values must be equally divided on both correction planes in order to achieve the proper dynamic tolerances.
From the residual eccentricity values, it is easy to obtain the value of the maximum permissible unbalance weight with the manual tolerance and balancing formula
Vibration Testing
Testing includes a running test that also checks the vibration of the fully assembled fan. This check is performed with reference to the ISO 14694:2003 standard which states that category BV-3 industrial fans may not exceed 2.8 Veff mm/s if mounted on a rigid structure, or 3.5 Veff mm/s when mounted on a flexible structure.
The manufacturer is not responsible for measurements on the fan at the final installation site: the relative values are influenced by the flatness of the supporting surface.
Special Materials and Applications
- ITIFEX is highly specialized in the production of custom machines for atypical uses, such as: Spark resistant fans suitable for working in 1/21 (2GD) and 2/22 (3GD) category zones where a potentially explosive atmosphere is present, suitable for conveying flammable and combustible substances in compliance with the ATEX 94/9/EC directive (certifications issued by TUV North Cert)
- Fans with impellers specifically sized for operation at 60 Hz
- Fans with a casing made of 2 or 3 parts to facilitate transport or maintenance operations.
- Construction in stainless steel (AISI 304, AISI 316, AISI 310 and other special steels), for use in the presence of aggressive agents, food uses, and high temperatures
- Construction in wear-resistant HARDOX/CREUSABRO material with an average Brinell hardness of 400/450 HB
- Insulation of all parts in contact with the transport fluid, using rock wool to reduce the surface temperature of the fan and to prevent energy dispersion
- Insulation of only the part placed between the engine and hot surfaces to protect the transmission or engine from the heat inside the casing.
- Builds with special seals (multiple ring packing for high temperatures and configurations for intake ducts with multiple rings for grease buildup)
- Hot-dip galvanized fans
Selection and configuration of the most suitable fan is based on the temperature of the fluid transported. Normal operating conditions envisage working temperatures up to 60°C. Exceeding this value entails the additional provision of a cooling fan, to allow a temperature of 150°C for directly coupled fans and 300°C for those with a transmission.
For temperatures higher than those mentioned above, it is necessary to insulate the side of the fan with an insulated disc in order to prevent damage to the motor or transmission.
Paints are also chosen according to the working temperatures:
- standard up to 180°C with peaks of 200°C
- custom for higher temperatures
In the event custom fans are required for fluids exceeding temperatures of 500°C, specific materials more suitable for the project will be used.
